IT Equipment and Information Control Policy

This policy sample establishes guidelines and procedures common to effective company equipment and system information protection.

In this sample, in order to prevent the use of new technology workstations by unauthorized parties, users must activate password-protected screensavers whenever they are away from their workstations; data stored on company equipment, such as laptops, PDAs, cell phones and messaging devices, is the property of the company; the company requires that users take laptops along as carry-on luggage when traveling by airplane; and company-issued equipment must be protected from theft or damage by following common-sense precautions.
