Unum Group: Pivoting to Respond to Change While Positioning for the Future

Unum Group has spent the following 172 years focused on protecting people financially when they’re injured or ill and need it most. In early 2020, the company shifted to virtual work rapidly, successfully transitioning about 98% of its employees worldwide to remote work arrangements. According to Miles Archer, senior vice president of internal audit at Unum, the company “stood up a cross-functional, operational decision-making team to help Unum begin reacting and responding to what was a very dynamic and multifaceted situation evolving around the globe.”
