More chief audit executives (CAEs) are appointing IT audit directors to assume responsibility for managing the technology control environment as their organizations undergo massive technology-driven changes. We’ve seen this upward trend in designated IT auditors over the past several years: 55% of companies now have an IT audit director or equivalent positions, and most IT audit directors regularly attend board meetings.
