An effective disaster recovery/business continuity management (DR/BCM) plan identifies, assesses, prioritizes, manages and attempts to control risk. The director of technical services must ensure that necessary resources are devoted to creating, maintaining and testing the plan. The effectiveness of a contingency plan depends on management’s ability to identify the business process dependencies, as well as information systems, service restoration or data maintained in electronic form.

The objective of this policy is to ensure that information system resources and business processes are protected against service interruptions by developing, implementing and testing a DR/BCM plan.
