"Process alignment" is defined as the synchronization of business process objectives and performance measures with organizational objectives and strategies to avoid conflicting, uncoordinated activities. The alignment of business processes is a conscious and systematic coordination of three interrelated organizational driving forces – strategy, culture and infrastructure – to be mutually supportive and to contribute as efficiently and effectively as possible to meet organizational goals and objectives.
