
This article summarizes Audit Analytics’ annual analysis of macro trends in SEC comment letters. It looks primarily at comments from 10-Ks, 10-Qs and 8-Ks and what insights can be garnered from them.
The combined total amount of comment letters for 10-K and 10-Q filings have decreased. From 2016 to 2017, the total number of comment letters decreased by 13%, which is fairly consistent with decline that has been seen in the past (10% from 2015 to 2016 and 14% from 2014 to 2015). The number of conversations largely followed the same declining pattern. More data and charts can be found in the full article.
