Alcohol and Other Drugs Policy

The following is a sample policy statement for use of alcohol and other drugs in the workplace.

According to this policy, the inappropriate use of alcohol and illegal use of drugs reflects unfavorably on employees and on the company, therefore under no circumstances should any company personnel be under the influence of alcohol, drugs or other controlled substances in the workplace, or in any setting where he or she may be identified with the company. This includes the office; customers’ premises; social functions; or any setting where employees interact with company personnel, its customers or prospective customers. In addition, this policy addresses the U.S. Drug-Free Workplace Act of 1988.
