The purpose of this policy is to document general hiring procedures for HR and hiring managers. According to this example, all newly hired employees must complete a new hire package prepared by personnel administration, and personnel must make copies of the new hire's identification (birth certificate, driver's license etc.) for the personnel file. In addition, a payroll/status change notice must be completed and signed by the division manager in order for the employee to be placed on payroll, and the employee status form and W-4 should be forwarded to payroll. This policy also states that the employee should be given a copy of the handbook and sign a receipt.
