Project Environment Risk Audit Work Program

This sample audit program reviews the risks inherent within project environments. Specifically, this work program focuses on risk areas, key performance indicators, work program tasks, leading practices, observations, and implications/root causes within the areas of strategic alignment, corporate culture (including change enablement), stakeholders, business environment risk, process alignment, and portfolio management.

Risk areas covered in this document include: project objectives are tactically aligned with business and IT strategy; business and IT strategy are stable; project duration is not excessive; the change enablement process achieves cultural alignment; social and psychological factors do not obstruct project progress; past experiences of projects do not prejudice likelihood of project success; project visibility is appropriate; and stakeholders are committed to project success.
