Procedures for Effectively Overseeing Employee Sick Leave
According to this policy, a company should establish a sick pay benefit program that is designed to protect the earnings of regular full-time employees in case of personal illness or injury.
This policy states that upon completion of the introductory period, regular full-time employees should be eligible for six days paid sick leave each year, accrued at the rate of one-half day, four (4) hours, per month worked. Any unused sick leave benefits should accumulate from year to year subject to a maximum of twelve (12) days. Employees should not be paid for unused sick leave benefits. The company may require proof of illness and ability to return to work.
