
This job description outlines the responsibilities, qualifications and personal characteristics desired for the role of vice president of internal audit.
Reporting to both the chief executive officer (CEO) and to the audit committee of the board of directors, the vice president of internal audit is responsible for the design and implementation of the worldwide internal audit program for the company. He/she will have primary leadership responsibility for maintaining and strengthening a world-class internal control environment. He/she will provide independent reviews and evaluations of the company’s operations, information systems, controls, major business processes, records, and reporting functions and provide recommendations to the company’s management, external auditors and the board of directors.
