This article guides instructors on using LinkedIn groups to supplement standard internal auditing course materials. Topics covered include background information about LinkedIn groups, criteria for identifying appropriate LinkedIn groups, advantages and barriers in incorporating in the curriculum, suggested assignments, and some examples of LinkedIn groups found to be of value. It aims to stimulate discussion within the teaching profession about additional opportunities to take advantage of this social media tool.
