This sample policy defines guidelines and procedures organizations should follow when using telecommunications systems.

In this sample, passwords for entrance into the voice messaging system must be changed every 60 days, different than the preceding two password generations, nonsequential and at least six characters long; language used in messages must be formal business language; obscene, profane or defamatory language is prohibited; and users who regularly telecommute or work from home may be permitted, by submitting a formal, justifiable request through management, to forward their extensions to external phone lines.
