Adoption Assistance Audit Work Program

The objective of this work program is to assess the internal controls in place for the adoption assistance process.

Audit procedures include: examine the company's worksite; obtain a copy of the FMLA; verify the adoption assistance program is properly approved for compliance; obtain formal documentation of the employee adoption assistance program; obtain evidence that the adoption assistance program and FMLA documentation explaining employees’ rights and responsibilities were recently distributed to employees; and obtain the population of employees who are participating in the adoption assistance program.
