‘‘Data analysis’’ is defined as the extraction of data from a client’s information system in order to perform data selection, classification, ordering, filtering, translation and other functions to provide the client with information about their business processes. Suggested approaches to data analysis include identifying opportunities, researching possible opportunities, designing an assessment, acquiring data, loading data, and performing validation and proofing.

This document includes two sample guides that can be used for understanding and leveraging an organization’s data analytics process.
